Ken Winner Gaastra designers reportedly used a lot of input from current world wave-sailing champ Jason Polakow while working on the latest Heatwave. The result is that the '98 model is more sideshore-oriented than last year's. It's quite flat and has a straighter luff curve. This makes it soft and pumpable, but not necessarily more powerful. It is easier to handle, though, as it tends to feather and spill wind in gusts - a trait that comes in handy on bigger waves and in sideshore conditions, where the apparent wind can be so strong.
