"Prices certainly are reasonable for the motorist," said Pam Maiolo, public affairs manager for AAA Midatlantic, in Hamilton. "Our New Jersey average is $1.32 a gallon, (in the) Trenton area, more specifically, $1.30 a gallon, and that represents a 30- to 32-cent savings over this time last year. So we expect to see probably, if nothing else, an increase in auto travel."

Fair Isaac (FICO) finally recognized the abuses of the practice recently and adjusted their credit score algorithm (the set of rules FICO uses to score credit reports) to ignore authorized user accounts. The result is that generally credit scores will no longer be inflated by authorized user accounts. Good news for lenders who do not want credit scores artificially manipulated. Bad news for legitimate authorized users who may have benefited somewhat from their parents’ good credit habits.

"If they are going to go on a vacation, they make those plans ahead of time, not knowing what the gas prices are going to be, and so when the gas prices then are whatever they are, they're not going to cancel their trip," Maiolo said.

Good Credit Rating "As long as there's gas available, we will continue to travel by car. The Fourth of July weekend is one of the busiest," Maiolo said.
Credit Score Rating Chart Joe Jarzyk, who was leaving his car at the Texaco to be serviced, agreed. "If it was $2 (a gallon), I'd still go anywhere," Jarzyk said. "I'll probably just go to the Shore, go crabbing. That's it."
