standard credit report Credit Scores Are they all the same

Saying credit scores are all the same is like saying all cola drinks are the same. It s just not true. There s Coca Cola, Pepsi Cola, RC Cola, Shasta Cola, Diet Coke, Cherry Coke, etc., and each cola has slightly different ingredients and a slightly different taste. poor credit rating loan

Credit scores are similar to cola drinks in that there are many flavors out there because credit scores are produced by many different companies for many different purposes. Plus, the recipe for the credit score and the method to produce it may be slightly different for each company. bank credit rating

Presently there are popular credit scores available to consumers produced by companies like Fair Issac (FICO Score), by CreditXpert, by Experian, and by Trans Union, just to name a few. Plus there is a new score called the Vantage Credit Score. credit card for poor credit

If all this confuses you, you are not alone. It becomes even more confusing because each credit score producer may use a different scale. For example Fair Issac may use a scale of 300 to 850 while the Vantage Score uses a scale of 501 to 990. business credit rating

So how do you compare scores from different suppliers We have no good answer except to advise you that when you are looking at your credit score, you should pay more attention to the credit report components that are lowering your score and pay a little less attention to the score value. Afterall, it s the credit information that determines the score, so when you improve your credit report, your credit score should increase. moodys credit rating

Many consumers also ask which credit score is best. The simple answer is the FICO Score is best because it is used by lenders the most, but even the FICO Score from each of the three credit bureaus may show material differences if your credit information is not the same at all 3 bureaus. The FICO Score is also not available with all credit reports, but if you must have a FICO Score, we have a convenient link to Equifax.com to order your FICO Score. credit card with bad credit

standard credit report Credit Scores Confused about Credit Scores

Join the club! Even lending professionals have difficulty understanding all the nuances of credit scores. For the consumers the task is even more difficult. However, here are some generalities that may help you: fico credit rating

  1. Credit scores are based on your credit report. A good credit score, also known as a credit risk score, generally requires good credit on your credit report. If possible that means no lates, no collections, no bankruptcies, and no public records. Of course if you already have these derogatory items, try to minimize them. It also helps your credit score as the items of bad credit age . That means older bad credit may not lower your score as much as recent bad credit. However it is not always that simple. Bottomline, you will need good credit to get a good credit score. improving credit rating

  2. Since your credit report credit score measures the risk you will default on an obligation, a good credit score requires other factors on your credit report that imply you are a good risk. That means even someone with a perfect payment record may still be scored as risky . For example risky credit reports may have too much credit, or high credit balances, or lots of inquiries. Unfortunately these factors are scored relative to your entire credit report, so too much credit for one person may be okay for another. mortgage credit rating

  3. Credit scores not only affect your eligibility for credit but also the interest rate for your credit. So even if you may qualify for a loan with a lower credit score, it may be at a higher interest rate because of your lower score. Higher credit scores qualify for the best programs with the best terms and the lowest interest rates. average credit rating

  4. Credit scores are not only used for loans but also for rentals, insurance, and utilities. Sometimes in these cases your score affects your eligibility, other times it affects the deposit amount required. The best rates and terms may require higher credit scores. loan for people with poor

  5. Credit scores do not include factors such as age, gender, or race. Such factors are protected by anti-discrimination laws and may not lawfully affect your credit score. bureau credit rating

Unfortunately the illegal purpose may be committed over long periods of time before the victim even discovers the fraud. company credit rating

The issue of ordering your credit report and monitoring your credit is especially timely in light of the recent ChoicePoint incident where over 100, 000 consumer records nationwide may have been accessed by criminals operating an identity theft ring for the past year. While this unfortunate crime underscores the difficulty of defeating criminals intent on stealing your personal information, it should also remind consumers to take steps to safeguard their credit as much as they are able. credit rating information

At a minimum, consumers should check their report annually for inaccurate information and for unusual or unauthorized inquiries into their credit. It is recommended that consumers be proactive and check their credit reports biannually. standard credit report Debt Reduction Benefits of Making a Budget Coming To Terms With The B Word

If you are able to read this first paragraph and continue on with the article, you have come a long way in wanting to get your financial situation in order. Sooner or later, the B word has to come into play. That s right. It s time to take a look at your budget. unsecured loan for poor credit

For all of you who are still reading, I commend you. The word budget brings all the joy of having to go on a crash diet. In fact, that is how most people approach budgets. Just as with a diet, you know you are going to be forced to do without the things you really want and be absolutely miserable throughout the entire process. While this is an option you can choose to take if you desire, we will try to present some less antagonizing options to get your budget in order. r9 credit rating

First and foremost, let s get clear what a budget is. A budget is merely a plan to spend less money than you make. Nothing more, nothing less. If you are not currently doing this with your money, you have 3 choices: country credit rating

1) Reduce your current spending so that it is below the income you bring in 2) Figure out a way to earn more money so that you can continue your current spending habits 3) Continue to fall deeper in debt Since #3 is not an option in this article, we will focus on the first 2 choices. Many reduce your current spending budgets are created in such a way that you are already doomed to failure before you even begin. A good example is a budget created by arbitrarily designating the amount of money you want to save each month. For example, someone earning $3, 000 a month decides to only spend $2, 500 a month thus saving $500 each month. Although this may at first appear to be a sound approach to creating a budget, it will almost surely fail. Most people who budget this way will find at the end of the month they are running short of money. They therefore must stop buying all items, including those which are essential, in order to remain within their designated budget. Since most people aren t willing to forego staples such as food, this budget method usually ends in failure. credit rating service

An important aspect that most people fail to address when creating a budget is finding out where their money is actually being spent each month. A better approach than arbitrarily designating an amount to be saved is to take the time and actually write down where your money is going. We know that this prospect sends shivers down your spine. Who really wants to know where the money is going Part of this fear stems from the thinking that if you really know where the money is going, then you can no longer deceive yourself of the way you spend money. Ouch! However, it s got to be done. Whether you like it or not, in order for a budget to work, you are going to have to be willing to take some responsibility. Without taking the responsibility of knowing how you spend money, making a budget that works will be next to impossible and you can stop reading right now. experian credit rating
