Because each bureau can and does receive information from different banks and creditors, your credit score (also referred to as "FICO score") can differ from credit bureau to credit bureau. While credit scores themselves range from 350 to 850, a FICO score of 700 from Experian is generally considered the equivalent of a 700 FICO score from Equifax or TransUnion. Regardless of which bureau supplies your credit report rating, the higher your FICO score, the better your chances are of securing a loan, with a favorable interest rate and ultimately having a stronger more solid credit history.

Yet it moved the bank into a strategic position in two states and that's where Provident chose wisely in buying Warwick Community Bancorp, bringing its total to 36 branches in New York and New Jersey.The bank said that as a result of the acquisition its assets have grown to $2.5 billion.
It wasn't long before US Bank advised that it was raising the rate on his WorldPerks Visa card to 20.21 percent, nearly quadrupling the existing rate of 5.25 percent. "I wasn't late, and I didn't go over the credit limit, and I didn't write bad checks, " Mr. Strachan told the Times. A representative of US Bank told him he was using too much of his available credit, he said. (A US Bank spokesman declined to comment, the Times reported.)

From an investor's standpoint, the recent surge in bank foreclosures creates a buyer's market with vast potential. Free Credit Rating Report North Fork Bancorp Inc (NYSE: NFB) closed up 60 cents at $40.05. Fitch cut its debt ratings on North Fork Bancorp Friday.
Credit Rating Scale USB Holding Company Inc (NYSE: UBH) closed down 11 cents at $25.17.
